Clan sleeves are used as part of a remedial wall tie replacement system for the isolation of corroding brick ties. The tie isolation sleeve contains a rust inhibiting compound to prevent further wall tie corrosion and to protect masonry against the destructive brick-lifting effects of corrosive metal expansion.
The Clan brick tie isolation sleeve is suitable for use on vertical twist wall ties having corrosive expansion potential, allowing the tie to be left in place but structurally isolating it from the masony.
First, cut away all the mortar around the corroding tie and remove delaminating matal flakes. Simply slide the isolation sleeves over the corroding wall ties before making good the pointing.
