Helical bars for masonry stitching or for the formation of a brick beam lintel.
Retrofit bed joint reinforcement systems utilise 6mm helical re-bars in the form of high tensile (circa 8kN) stainless steel rods that increase the tensile and flexural strength of masonry. Cold rolled helical bars have a nominal tensile strength that is twice that of rebar, four times that of epoxy glass-fibre rods and seven times that of wound helix plate (Ref: BRE GBG62)
Available in 300m packs comprising 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0m bars for crack stitching or in a 350m pack comprising 3.5m bars. For ease of transportation the 3.5m lengths of lintel repair bars are packed in a loop, which may retain some memory-bend when the masonry reinforcement is un-coiled.
