Repairing storm-damaged roofs

Storm Ciara has been battering the UK with heavy rain and gale-force winds, causing all sorts of structural damage as it goes. As a property's first line of defence, the roof is often the first to suffer such weather-related damage and so roof repairs are high on the agenda after a heavy storm like Ciara. Twistfix supply a professional collection of roof repair products, including:

Roof Sealing Paint

Our acrylic roof sealant is designed to quickly seal leaks in most types of roofing material, creating an instant, lasting waterproof seal even if used while it is raining. The formula contains added fibres which augment the sealant's flexural strength, permitting natural thermal movements within the repaired roof. A single coat of our solar-reflective Roof Sealing Paint, applied with brush or spatula, is usually sufficient and there is no need to use a primer.

EPDM Rubber Roofing

A rapid, simple and economical material for repairing or renewing flat roofs, EPDM rubber roofing is a one-piece membrane sold in seamless sheets: a range of standard sizes is available or we can supply a piece cut to your exact specifications. EPDM rubber roofing products have been used for more than four decades, testament to their unmatched qualities. The material is also available as part of a cost-effective kit, which contains all of the fixings, adhesives and trims required to complete a project.

Lead-Free Flashing

Though once widely used for roofing applications, it is now known that lead is toxic: Easy-Lead, a flashing alternative based on coated aluminium, is the perfect substitute. As well as being non-toxic, the material is easily cut with scissors or a knife, has a low weight and is extremely adaptable. The top side of Easy-Lead has an anti-corrosive coating while on the reverse is a powerful and durable butyl adhesive layer that offers remarkable bonding and waterproofing qualities on a variety of substrates.
