Wall Waterproof Membrane – Baseline 8
Baseline 8 is a cavity drain membrane for tanking walls, floors and vaulted ceilings subject to high groundwater levels and persistent moisture. This basement waterproofing membrane is moulded from high density polyethylene (HDPE) and incorporates integral 8mm stand-off studs at 25 mm centres. These waterproofing products are supplied in a choice of 40m2 and 48m2 rolls, each including an 80mm wide stud-free strip for overlapping sheets.
As a BS 8102: 2009 Type C compliant waterproofing membrane, Baseline 8 is suitable for use on masonry or concrete substrates and can be used in new construction or in existing buildings as part of a tanking system that delivers a Grade 3 dry environment in basements and cellars.
When used on walls, studs can be screwed to the membrane fixing plugs to secure a frame for dry-wall lining with plasterboard; when used on floors the impermeable surface permits direct laying of floors and concrete screeds.
To waterproof wall surfaces, Baseline 8 cavity drain tanking membrane typically requires:
- 1 roll of waterproofing tape or 4 rolls of butyl rubber rope
- 200 brick plugs with ready-mounted waterproof seals
For waterproofing floors, 1 roll of Baseline 8 waterproof membrane typically require:
- 1 roll of waterproofing tape
- 1 roll of corner tape for use at floor/wall abutments
Baseline 8 waterproofing membrane forms part of a sealed basement tanking system with cavity drainage for disposing of water accumulation in situations where water ingress is an issue.
