Crack Stitching Kit with Lime-Based Grout

Use our professional Crack Stitching Kit with Lime-Based Grout to strengthen cracked masonry while maintaining compatibility with traditional and historic buildings. Put together by industry experts, this kit is ideal for reinforcing cracked brick, block and stone walls where a breathable, hydraulic lime-based grout is required.

The kit comprises:

• 10 stainless steel crack stitch rods (6 mm × 1 m).
• A tub of Lime-Based Helical Bar Grout (3 L yield).
• A helix mixer paddle for mixing the grout.
• An applicator with two different sized nozzles for dispensing the grout.
• A pointing iron for finishing the repair.

How to Use the Crack Stitching Kit

First, cut or grind slots into the selected bed joints, extending approximately 500 mm beyond each side of the crack. Clean the joints thoroughly and dampen them with clean water. Mix the lime-based grout, load it into the applicator and fill each slot to around two-thirds depth. Push the stainless steel rods into the grout and trowel the displaced material to completely encapsulate the helix. Finally, point the wall with a suitable lime mortar to blend the repair with the surrounding masonry.

How Crack Stitching Strengthens Walls

The stainless steel helical bars bridge cracks, absorb movement and redistribute tensile forces throughout the masonry. Working together, the load-sharing rods create a reinforced zone that resists further cracking while allowing the wall to retain its natural breathability. The concealed reinforcement restores structural integrity without compromising traditional masonry.
