Located in a prime position right next to Birmingham New Street Station, the Prince's Chambers Building is one of the city's best-known landmarks. The building was constructed in the Victorian era and, though steadfastly maintaining its imposing grandeur, had begun to show its age. A full refurbishment project was quickly organised which began in the winter of 2013 and has now been fully completed.

Prince's Chambers is located on a corner of the busy and bustling Corporation Street which lies at the heart of Birmingham City Centre. A historically prestigious address which has retained its sense of exclusivity throughout the years and right up until today, the building is now home to several luxury apartments on the upper floors while the ground floor houses a diverse range of successful retail businesses.

The extensive refurbishment work focused on the external façade of the historic building. A long list of jobs, including stone repair and cleaning, roof restoration, anti-bird measures and window replacement, was methodically completed by a team of contractors working closely together; lead contractors Berbens Ltd were greatly assisted by Build-Tech (Midlands) Ltd, a Twistfix-registered building company, in the process.

Part of the project involved restoring full structural strength to the aged masonry of the external façade. To ensure a lasting, professional, efficient and cost-effective job, Build-Tech utilised a number of Twistfix wall ties which, with their unique Airtwist technology and innovative driving configuration, delivered a simple, quick and durable solution. Upon completion of the work, the Senior Contracts Manager for Midland Area Housing Association Michael Cooper said, "(we) express our thanks to all personnel and contractors involved in the Prince's Chambers Project. The project has been completed to both time & budget but, more importantly, has gone without a hitch which, for a city centre position over the festive season, was no mean feat. Also I must comment on the excellent finish that has been achieved; this has gone down very well with my colleagues at Birmingham City Council."

Build-Tech (Midlands) Ltd form part of Specialist Restoration Services, an ISO-registered company specialising in structural renovation, damp prevention, basement tanking and home conversions. The company make extensive use of Twistfix products which, offering guaranteed professional results every time, has allowed them to develop and maintain and enviable reputation for quality work.
