Wherever mould grows, it looks absolutely horrible. Left unchecked, it can even start to damage the underlying structure. Worst of all, touching or breathing in the spores can result in serious health problems check out a previous edition of our blog to find out more.
Everything you need to remove mould and prevent it from reoccurring can be found in this comprehensive kit. As well as a one-litre spray bottle of mould remover and two bottles of fungicidal additive, you also get essential accessories like gloves, goggles, a mask and a handy applicator sponge.
Here's how you use the kit contents for best results...
- After making sure that the area is properly ventilated, put on the protective mask, goggles and gloves.
- Thoroughly spray the affected surface with the biocide from a distance of 3-5cm. Continue the application for at least a metre beyond the growth of visible mould. Where growth is severe, wait for 15 minutes before applying a second coat.
- If the surface is covered with paint or paper, the biocide will strip this covering. The paper or flaked paint that comes off should be securely sealed in a bin bag and disposed of. You will then need to repeat the previous application step.
- Rub the formula into the affected surface using the sponge and wait for 30 minutes. While you're waiting, clean the sponge by saturating it with biocide formula and then rinsing with plenty of running water.
- Use warm soapy water to rinse the surface and allow it to dry.
- Following the provided instructions, it's now time to mix the fungicidal additive into the medium you will be using to cover the wall. This can be wallpaper paste, tile adhesive, primer, undercoat, varnish or emulsion/gloss paint. Apply the chosen medium in the usual manner.
