Water-Guard Drainage Channel
Made from robust and durable PVC, Water-Guard drainage channels provide excellent drainage of groundwater from underground areas and are used as part of a Type C waterproofing system to comply rigidly with the BS 8102 standard. Supplied with an integral upstand, each two-metre conduit (available singly or in a cost-effective bulk pack of eight pieces) is fitted around the perimeter of the basement and permits the entrance of water through a series of inlet holes. The collected water can then be diverted for disposal, either to an external drain or to a sump and pump arrangement.
Installing Water-Guard basement drainage channels begins with the formation of a trench around the edges of a concrete floor slab. The channels are then simply laid into the trough with the flow running towards the appropriateoutlet before stone gravel is used to surround the drain.
Water-Guard Floor Drain
Modelled on the above item but manufactured without an upstand or vertical flange, this product is designed to transport water to a sump pump across the floor of a basement. The design of this drainage channel makes it especially ideal for use in cellars that have stepped footings.
