This Helical wall ties kit contains everything needed for replacing wall ties to 30 square metres of brickwork at 2.5 ties per square metre. The kit is ideal for all retrofit brick-tying applications, including replacing missing or corroding wall ties. Ties are available in various lengths to suit a variety of cavity widths.
To install, drill a pilot hole to a depth 10mm longer than the tie and drive the tie home using the unique setting tool fitted in an SDS drill set on hammer mode. The impact action of the tool ties hammers the remedial tie into the pilot hole, forcing it to cork-screw into brick, block or concrete, where it tightly grips the masonry on both sides of the cavity.
What length wall ties do I need?
|Cavity Width||Wall Tie Length|
|25 - 45mm||205mm|
|50 - 70mm||230mm|
|75 - 95mm||255mm|
N.B. The above tie-length guidance assumes traditional cavity walls with 110mm imperial bricks. Make a 10mm adjustment for walls with 100mm metric bricks.
