Insulation Fasteners: Prepare for Winter!

Insulation Fasteners: Prepare for Winter!

With the weather so far this autumn, you could be forgiven for thinking that winter has arrived early this year! Construction sites across the country are already preparing to make sure that roofing structures are well insulated and made fully waterproof before the weather gets even worse, leading to increased demand for fixings and fasteners for warm roofing. Two of the most popular types are available from Twistfix.

Super-7 Warm Roof Fasteners

Super-7 warm roof fasteners are used for securing over-rafter insulation in pitched warm roofing applications. As the strongest helical fastener of its kind, the Thor Helical Super-7 can be used with insulation of a thickness up to 150mm. At  insulation depths greater than 80mm, up to 40% fewer fixings can be used (compared to standard 6mm helical fixings), representing exceptional savings in cost and labour. Available in a comprehensive range of lengths to suit any project, a full fixing specification for Super-7 is available using the HeliCalc calculator.  HeliCalc takes the results of an intensive independent test program, carried out at Lucideon, and applies them to a complex design method that is fully approved by the BRE to deliver project-specific warm roof fixing specifications that are BS6399 Parts 2 & 3-compliant, with Eurocode safety factors applied.

Insofast ISF18 Flat Roof Insulation Fixing

Insofast flat roofing fasteners are designed for fixing insulation laminates over warm roof deck rafters. A dome-reinforced head is welded to a Super-7 helical shank to create a fastener developed specifically for nailing insulation boards to roofing deck joists. Available in either stainless steel or zinc-plated carbon steel with lengths ranging from 145mm – 225mm, Insofast ISF18 flat roof insulation fixings can be driven with an SDS driving tool or standard hammer.

Whatever type of insulation you're using, Twistfix can supply the right insulation fixings to ensure your work is of the most professional standard. Find out more on our website.
